We (who are university students in Kyoto in Japan) introduce Kyoto in this blog. (If you want to know this blog in detail, look at the profile)

Chinese noodles (730 yen)There is the noodle shop "MARUTAKE" near from Kyoto Gosho.Their soup is good, also noodle is good too, but what I should explain most is CHARSHU!(slices of roast pork).MARUTAKE's CHARSHU is is taken out after roasting over a burner fully in an exciting way, just before noodles are taken out.That's amazing!Someone said this CHARSHU is No.1 in the world.

At last it is a public performance in the autumn of Kyoto.
When it compares it last year, it is the feeling that the red of colored leaves is bright this year, and profited.

After all the thing which nature makes changes by the environment.
I feel romance in such things.

A heart cannot but change in only greatness, the occultness which I cannot control to a person.

But why would a person neglect coexistence with nature for rationality and convenience?

I want to hope that this scenery is kept all the time from now on.

Therefore should not the country stop the deception that - 3.9% do not understand a reason by absorption by the forest to protect the aim of the Kyoto Protocol?

We plan it steadily and devise it, and performing it thinks it to be not have the method by a group imminent as possible.

The name of the shop is SEAGULL.
It is in the place in which it ..tree shop town.. entered
the west (the same as Kawaramachi) for a moment.
It is in front of the Jambo Karaoke.

The shop is not wide so much, and lighting Cange.
Clerk's elder sister is lovely, and amiable. The elder brother was an interesting person who Canaried and was able to laugh.
And, the drink menu is a shop that the cocktail (perhaps limited time) connected to Dragonball, and becomes a material considerably.

There was only cheapness, and weak Maro to sake got drunk on the drink enough like the juice.

I went to dinner in Ponto-cho.
It is gorgeous though it is a shop "Saku-Saku".

A domestic shop in the shop though the shop posture is lively.
It was narrow, and did a mood of the counter seat in the store almost.
And, the drink is made in my truth back … The person in the shop was indeed a shop near the distance.

Rice and Mr. feel it because the lighting is also considerably well informed, and he doesn't exist in bar or the drinking house, etc.
It was a wholesome air.
When I say to the manager, "You looks young"

"To tell the truth, it is not so. "

He said.
It might be how old in reality. I was not able to be heard. Please ask　him.

And, I ate the carpaccio of Chicken.
It was very delicious. The addition and subtraction already easily : about the tomato. Tears

BAR ”Atlantis”

I of loving sake have gone to the bar today. It is "Atlantis".
It is in Ponto-cho.
The floor is done in summer because it is on the west side of Kamogawa.

Here is full of the bartender.
To shop though it is not wide ….By the way, the bartender only is young and Handsome.
The talk is also interesting.

Sake still has only the bar, and goods in stock of foreign drinks … It is terrible. ..queue up fully... ♪(Is it natural?!)
Foreign drinks was drunk in full scale for the first time.
"Le Cordon Bleu" was delicious. How if it drinks by there is an original cocktail, too?

Delicious sake alone did not become, it was able to enjoy the toque, and it was quite good.

Hello. It was possible to go for the class not late today!!!!

Today's work did the work that had been collected before it went to cover as follows,
and it settled and did an English translation for a long time.

MEKASHIN did the act that I did not understand at that time though he threw BGM with his personal computer.

Noodle shop SHAKARIKI makes this kind of people satisfy.
This shop always does limitation menus.

This one is autumn limited "heavy fishery taste"(750 yen)

BAR in kyoto "C&D PONTO"

I introduce "C&D 先斗(PONTO)" which is a bar of Kyoto.

There is the shop in the second floor of the building. The bar is very small. I was surprised. Some illumination are gloomy. I think that I wanto came to the bar for dating at night.

The Bartender is a very good person! The friend who went out together got drunk very much, but the bartender talked with him kindly.

I took the cocktail of the photograph. The color is very beautiful.the tast is melon and sweety!!delicious! But it took time since I ordered cocktail till I got it. There is also powdered green tea parfait. A lot of ice and fruit are in the parfait. The parfait is luxurious. The menu is written to the folding fan and is pretty.

When I went to Arashiyama, I found "Mayubi".
The cosmetics have been carried by a magazine.
The cosmetics are made of cocoons. This looks like a sponge.
You steep this sponge in water and wash your face. Then your face become beautiful.
I used the cosmetics and was very comfortable.
There are cosmetics at the shopp in KEifuku-Line Arashiyama station.
I recommend buy it as souvenir.

It is cold in Kyoto recently. I strolled in Shijo.
And I found "HELLO KITTY - studio". There was a lot of Kitties (the character of the cat which is famous in Japan).
There are Kitties which wore a kimono. I thought they are really pretty. （the prices are high for me...）You can buy the kitties of the shop on the Internet. When I went to Shijo, I recommend go to the shop.

Today's Soda-wari ~arashiyama~

Hi!I'm Lawrence.

It was a day of long-awaited coverage today.
It was possible to go sightseeing enough in Ranzan because the
weather was good and today was a weekday!!

My group was traveling a west side from the Arashiyama st. to Katabira no tuji st..

I think a good showplace in Ranzan to have been suppressed though it was not able to be slow because of the class.

Well, the article is taken in advance here and it introduces Sweets at Arashiyama.

It is "ARINCO" who goes out of Arashiden Ranzan Station and exists in just right.

The roll cake that 'CAFE GARB' in Osaka Minami-senba had might have come to Kyoto alone.
It eats of course, it walks for the souvenir, and the small size roll cake can be tasted.

I ate Maccya flavor it was delicious in enough whipped cream.

Samurai cartoon

I looked for the comics that The story is set in Kyoto. It is "るろうに剣心Ruroni-Kenshin".

The comics are made an animated cartoon, and it is made novelization. These comics are very popular in Japan. Chief character is Kenshin Himura. He was a samurai in the late Tokugawa period. And he roamed in the Meiji era.

After eight volumes (the photograph), the stage of comics moves to Kyoto. Relations with chief character and Shinsengumi are interesting.

※Shinsengumi The samurai who did peace and order maintenance and suppression of the anti-curtain terrorism　in Kyoto.

In Kyoto, not only the shrines and temples but also Shinsengumi is famous. a lot of things concerning Shinsengumi are sold in Kyoto.I recommend you buy the goods of shinsengumi as souvenirs.

"Manabiya art festival" from October 20th to 21th 2007.

the event is performed at the old Rissei elementary school in Kiyamachi.

The Nishijin brocade hall is an institution for Nishijin brocade. You can try on kimono and can make it. A lot of foreigners go to there, too.

I'm scary!!

I went to the temple on my way to my home from the university.

The name of the temple is "巣林寺". There is a tower in the temple. A dragon is displayed on the top of the tower. You can see the dragon very well even from the distance. The temple is very beautiful.

I would like to enter the temple, but it was scary and was not able to enter because it was night and dark. There seems to be a guardian deity of children in the temple. I would like to go at noon and to watch the guardian deity of children.　maro

I went to the Seimei Shinto shrine. Seimei Abe is the great Yin Yang fortune-teller who is the most famous by the Heian era.

There is the well at Seimei Shinto shrine.The name of the well is called Seimei-i. The water of the well is famous in Kyoto. Rikyu Sen who was famous for tea ceremony did tea ceremony with the water.

The God crest of Seimei Shinto shrine is pentagram. Pentagram expressesthe basic concept of the Yin Yang method which is the work of fire, soil, money, water, tree.

Because pentagram resembles a bellflower, pentagram is called the bellflower mark. A bellflower blooms in the precincts. The bellflower blooms until about September. The bellflower is very beautiful.

I introduce the ramen shop called KIRARI which did OPEN in this March.

An event was on from the 4th day to the 5th day in August. The name of the event is "Kamo-river enjoying the cool breeze".
Stands formed a line along Kamo-river. A lantern was turned on. I thought that it was very beautiful. In the Kamo riverbank, there are a lot of people now on "an enjoying the cool breeze floor". Famous vegetables of Kyoto

I introduce famous vegetables of Kyoto.

Famous vegetables of Kyoto are Kujo-long green onion, Kamo-eggplant, Yamanashi-eggplant, a potherb mustard, Mibu-Green, Fushimi-cayenne pepper, Shisihgatake-pumpkin, Syogoin-Japanese white radish, Horikawa-burdock and so on.

These are called "tradition vegetables of Kyoto".

These are cultivated by Kyoto original method. As for the vegetables of Kyoto, it is authorized Kyoto (41 kinds). The Kyoto original cultivation method is the method that put old agricultural methods and the latest agricultural methods together. The vegetables of Kyoto do not use a pesticide and artificial manure very much. And this cultivation method aims at the stable volume of production.

The image of Kyoto is strong, and the vegetables having the constant volume of shipment are called "brand Kyoto vegetables". These are authorized from Kyoto, too (17 kinds).

I ate Kamo-eggplant At SECOND HOUSE ( Kitayama shop). It's spaghetti with Kamo-eggplant. Really delicious!!

Sweet ice !!

The summer of Kyoto is very hot. I cannot help eating ice cream.
I love ice cream.
I went to "Tsuruya Yoshinobu" which was famous for Kyoto cake today. In "Tsuruya Yoshinobu", you can eat powdered green tea and Kyoto cake, ぜんざい, a shaved ice with syrup on the top in the second floor.
I wanted to eat a shaved ice with syrup on the top of here all the time. And I ate a shaved ice with syrup on the top just recently here. The ices are small. The shaved ice with syrup on the top is very delicious.
I thought that the interior decoration of the shop was wonderful. There are a tea-ceremony room and a garden in the shop. Anyone can make himself/herself at home.
In addition, cake craftsman does the service making a cake in front of counter seat here. I want to look that by all means this time.

The grave of famous samurai

I found 瑞泉院(Zuisen-in). 瑞泉院 is a grave of Hidetsugu Toyotomi.

Hidetsugu Toyotomi is a child of the older sister of Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Hidetsugu became an adopted child of Hideyoshi. When a child was born of Hideyoshi, Hidetsugu was disliked by Hideyoshi. Then Hidetsugu was called " cruel kampaku". Because Hideji murdered many people to try the sharpness of the sword.

However, nobody knows the truth. As for Hideji, it was commanded Hideyoshi to do seppuku at the age of 28 years old and died after all. The neck of Hideji was exposed to 三条（where is plase'name in Kyoto） of riverbanks.

This is a story before about 400 years.

瑞泉院 has the old history.

I entered and "Meal Muji" in the way back of the university. The restaurant there that "Mujirushi-Ryohin" handles. It is in B2 when the stairs to the underground in the south of Shijo BAL are descended. A glazed, openhearted floor there. The wooden table and the chair line up there. Daily dishes queued up in the showcase. I ate the seasoning curry. Friends choose, eat three goods set daily dishes that can be chosen. One set that consists of three goods unit adheres the side dish that rice, the miso soup, and I chose and is 683 yen of including tax. The price was also a low, and the girl was finished very satisfactory volume. Kyo-chibeta (which is ice cream shop)

It is cool recently. It is autumn soon. But I want to eat ice cream because I am still hot.

There is a shop in kyoto-nishizin-senbon-street. the shop sells handmade ice cream. The name of the shop is "chibeta".

"chibeta" is a dialect of Kyoto and means "cold". This ice cream does not put additives. We have a strawberry, a peach, a black soy bean of Tanba, soybean flour taste to the ice. the ice are really delicious.

It is ice of the black soy bean flour taste. The black soy bean of Tanba is a special product of Kyoto. It is not too sweet, and it is very delicious ice cream.

The second floor of the shop seems to be an art gallery. I think that it is good to take a break here.

Yasaka shrine

I stopped at Yasaka-jinja Shrine. I was glad because I went to Yasaka-jinja Shrine after a long absence . However, the western gate was under construction. I felt disappointing. But when enter the gate, as usual.

Night Yasaka-jinja Shrine is very romantic. A light burnt to the garden lantern and was quiet, and there were few people, too. I may be good for the place for dating.

In Yasaka-jinja Shrine, cherry blossoms are beautiful every spring. tourists comes to Yasaka-jinja Shrine a lot in spring. There are too many people, and it seems to become a festival.

Because Yasaka-jinja Shrine is a wonderful place, I recommend you to go once.

In Kyoto city, the lingering summer heat is still severe.

I intended to avoid even a crowd and walked the thin alley.

Then, I found the pretty Shinto shrine. There was the ceramic ware of a lot of raccoon dogs in a Shinto shrine. I thought that they are pretty.

When I took a photograph, a person came out of the small restaurant next to the Shinto shrine.The person said that "this Shinto shrine was "hachi-be (hachi means 8) " to worship a cunning person".

There seem to be "shichi-be (shichi means 7) and "roku-be (roku means 6) near this Shinto shrine, too. I report it if I find it.

There are some makers, but a Yatsuhashi of izutsuya is famous.
I have bought it for grandmother who lived in Hokkaido.

I think that the raw yatsuhashi which the bean jam was in is the mainstream.
However, there are a banana and black sesame and powdered green tea and a strawberry and the cherry tree taste, too.
In addition, a burnt yatsuhashi is the opening of the yatsuhashi.

I ate the yatsuhashi which I burnt for the first time in these days, but was very delicious.

I went to "the ramen alley（ラーメン小路）" of Kyoto Station today. I ate ramen in "烈士洵名" in there. As for the ramen of here, light soup is delicious.

I think that at the ramen alley, the miso ramen of "sumire（すみれ）" is the most delicious.

I introduce KAZU of the ramen shop. the ramen is mixed the soup of Pork with the bone pan-fried and stewed in shochu, brown sugar and miso, and the soup of sea food. The ramen is delicious.

A roasted pork fillet and a leek warmed by a charcoal fire are in this ramen. The interior decoration of the shop is wonderful, too. Everything of the shop is black color. And storekeeper runs the shop alone. A taciturn storekeeper takes out ramen in the shop, and it is delicious.

Hi! I'd like to introduce flea market in Kyoto at Chion-temple "手作り市（which means the handmade market)".
I found special goods, for example T-shirts, foods and jewelry. And I met nice people.

The event at riverside

The event was on from 4th to 5th in August. The name of the event is "Kamo-river enjoying the cool breeze". Stands formed a line along Kamo-river. Japanese lanterns were turned on and I thought they are very beautiful.

On "an enjoying the cool breeze floor", there are a lot of people now in the Kamo-riverbank."The enjoying the cool breeze floor" is to be able to eat supper outside a restaurant. Therefore there were a lot of people more because there was the event. There was the tourist from the foreign country a lot too. As for "Kamo-river enjoying the cool breeze", "a meeting making Kamokawa beautiful" is sponsorship.

Kamo-river drifts to busy streets / Shijo Kawaramachi. It takes Shijo bridge on Kamo-river. A is the river which is outstanding very much in Kyoto. Therefore I think that I want Kamoriver to keep being beautiful.

I am in Kyoto and am very hot.

I went to the Kyoto concert hall in Kitayama today. I observed the leader class of the music seminar that Seiji Ozawa taught it to. I met Ozawa for the first time. And I was able to meet young and talented students.

This class is special, and you cannot observe the class if you do not apply. I watched the class of Carmen. This hall itself is very interesting, too. In the first floor, there is a spiral long slope to the entrance of the hall. The photograph of many musicians is displayed on the wall.

Gion festival is held in July. The festival is very famous in Japan. Gion festival has been performed for 1100 years. The purpose of the festival is a wish a contagious disease does not be happend.

There are portable shrines at the festival place. How bautiful and big the portable shrines!! On 17th, the portable shines goes on from shijokarasuma to Oike street.

We have House of Councilors election on July 29. There are four candidates in Kyoto area. However, two people will be elected. And I can vote on just one person.

I think the Liberal Democratic Party is inferior by disgraceful affairs (the loss of the document which recorded the payment of the national pension) for the moment. The mass media reports that the Democratic Party is superior. I am troubled which person I will vote for.
Because I must go for a part-time job on the election day, I went for election beforehand. In Japan, eligible voters can vote after a public announcement day.

I hope successful candidates to be good politician and make Japan be better county.

Nishi-Hongan-ji of rain

It has gone near Nishi-Hongan-ji. It is high school days to see Nishi-Hongan-ji for the first time. Kyoto was visited in the school excursion. I remember having been overwhelmed to the size anyway at that time. Though it was not by thinking at that time even if it will live in Kyoto for four years, and the diary of Nishi-Hongan-ji will be written surely. It seems not to end yet though repair work was done when seeing for the first time.

Nishi-Hongan-ji seems to have been originally a name of Hongan-ji. Ieyasu Tokugawa, who is well known for his luck in surviving this turbulent age while successively serving famous warlords, gave the temple estate in the east to owner of Hongan-ji in Edo period. And, when Hongan-ji divided into two sections in 1602, the temple where 12 generation owner had opened was called Higashi-hongan-ji. And, Hongan-ji seems to have come to be called Nishi-Hongan-ji today. After that, it has become the base ground of Shinsen-gumi, who was a group of samurai warriors based in Kyoto, at the end of Edo Period. It seems not to have moved from this land for years of 400 thereafter.

My Mary is taking the project subject only at the half year.

I held the event by the class at the Kyougashi Material Pavillion on Sunday this week.

There is here in the close vicinity of the Imadegawa campus, and is Tawaraya Yoshitomi in the shop of old standing in the next. I learnt this for the first time.

After the material pavilion is visited, it can eat 500 yen the cake and the powdered green tea of the season with.

I cooperated with Mr. Yoshitomi in the class and the cake was made. The image is Ohime and Altair in the Milky Way.

When you smoke on the street, you have to pay the fine equal to or less than 2,000 yen. The prohibition area are shijo street and Kawaramachi street. I think that Japan has little regulation for the smoking. Did you know these regulations? Because the tourist must pay a fine, please be careful.

I hope Kyoto to be a better place by the regulation.

There is a site where Yosa Buson lived soon to be near there, too.

There is no ingredients. It is considerably difficult to twine Kyoto and daily life and to write the diary. That's the stuff, the diary of yesterday's Maro is more terrible than that of me. However, the reason to have gone to the library today … The air conditioner in the lodging house has broken! It was unexpected that the air conditioner broke at this time. And, it came back from the library a little while ago. It is hot, and it is damp, and seems to cry. The photograph is a photograph in the Imadegawa campus premises. The underground dining room introduced in the diary is in this building before, too. Here is a building named Meitokukan (明徳館). It is a personally favorite building.

There is Matsuo-shrine near my home.

This shrine is really famous because there is one of famous water vein in the shrine. And the shrine is dedicated to the god of Japanese sake. So, brewers come to here often because they believe the legend that if you use the water of the water vein which is called KAMENOI, you don’t fail to make Japanese sake.
But I know that the shrine have a more interesting story. The shrine’s written fortunes prove right. After I had drawn the fortune which predicted bad luck (I was 16 year-old), I become illness. After I had drawn the fortune which predicted very good luck (I was 18 year-old), I passed DOSHISYA university. I drew The shrine’s written fortune every year!! I recommend it to know whether your star is in a favorable or an unfavorable position this year.

If you drew the fortune which predicted bad luck, I recommend buying amulets of the shrine. Someone believes that the amulets might protect you from something bad. I sometime feel so, sometime not so. But I feel relieved to have the amulets. It is enough reason for me to have the amulets.

If you wanted to know whether your star is in a favorable or an unfavorable position this year, let’ go to the shrine!!

Kyoto kokusai manga museum is facilities where it introduces the cartoon culture of Japan. Cartoons other than Japan have been exhibited there. There is a culture that reads the cartoon from the adult to the child in Japan. It is because the cartoon of Japan is very refined.

I have gone there since the afternoon. There were a lot of people because it was holiday. There were a lot of families and couple. However, I went alone. I was lonely. However, the purpose of this is to write the article. It is necessary to go if it is as much as lonely.

Saturday, June 22, The point where I am tired from a crowd and arrived at is a riverbank of Kamo-river is basic of Kyoto date.

My head reels with the heat of the show and people a little. In the show having been over we drunk on people yet go to Kamo-river like the fish which totally breathes. I look up incidentally on from there, then I see a man and the woman who have dinner on the porch.

Legend of Togesu-bridge

I went to Arashiyama in Kyoto after a long separation. I wanted to visit Tenryu-temple which is one of cultural assets.But when I arrived at there, I found that people can go in there only from 9:00-17:00 and it was 18:00 then. I could not go in there though I went to there by my bicycle for 40 minutes….I crossed Togetsu-bridge on the way to my home. Then, I came up with a idea that I took pictures and upped them on the blog. I look back on the bridge to take pictures. Then, I remembered what my ground mother had said,“If you looked back on Togetsu-bridge, you would become stupid!” But I could not remember the reason clearly. I went home and made sure…

There is Hohrin-temple near the Togetsu-bridge. When you go to Hohrin-temple for “Ju-san-Maili”, you have to cross Togetsu-bridge.“Ju-san-maili” is one of traditional function that boys and girls who are 12 year-old and their parents visit Hohrin-temple to receive wisdom and happiness from gods. There is a legend that if you looked back on your way to your home from the temple on the bridge, you would lost the wisdom and happiness. Someone think that the legend is kind of discipline because the boys and girls can learn to keep promise from that.

In Kyoto, it is really sultry. Word "It was hot" was said 100 times today. Even the nature that all the abilities as man become 30% decrease is done on a hot day. As a result, it comes not to want to cook for oneself. Then, it is naturally drawn to the bakery in the vicinity.

The name of bakery where I defeated at the heat often go is said, "Marie France". It is in the close vicinity of the Doshisha University Shimmachi campus. The smell of fragrant bread does for it to pass beside the shop. It becomes feelings of a full stomach only because of this smell. The feature of bread here is that enough filling enters the bread. It is an appearance in inside of a store. The bread fresh from the oven is very delicious.

well acutually it was the result what I wanted some stimulus for my declining of motivation.

So I went to the maid-cafe in Kyoto. The cafe's name is "Cafe de Joule", which is the first maid-cafe made in Kyoto, and the concept is military. Acutually this cafe is in 2nd floor, and the 1st floor is a regular military shop. For proof, it has an enormous sign with M16A2 painted on it.

Now I return to the cafe, not enter. There will be a standard greeting; "Okaerinasaimase! (Welcome back!)", then we will be guided to the table. Usually, every table is numbered as 1,2,3... but in here, it will be name as a platoon like "Phantom 1", "Lightning 2", etc... it is really strained on. Also there are some model-guns, if we request to the maid to take some pose, they will do it (but don't request so much though).

But I beg a favor of you. Do not take a photo in the cafe.
Because of the pictures which leaked out for just in case, the victim will be the employees who works at cafe as maids, and the responsibilities will be on the person who taken pictures, also on the other guest who didn't advise to stop it... and lastly, all the manufacturers and the publishers which builded the culture of OTAKU will be nuisanced...

Finally... this cafe will close the shutter on 6/30 (Sat), with the closure of the shop at the 1st floor.

So, if you have some interests, please hurry because its operation remained are only 1week. Maybe I'll be there because it's last.

I use the puff which is called "絹羽二重(kinuhabutae) 珠の肌(tama-no-hada)puff", when I wash my face.

The puff is really popular with my friends.Of course, my mother and my sister use it too. So, I wrote my name on my puff not to use others puff.

When I can't sleep well, my skin is getting rough, But if I use it, my skin don't get rough.

You can buy it at a department store. the company which sell it sells goods which are for men too.

I recommend the puff to you!!
